The Weekly Waiver Wire

10 weeks into the season, if your playoff bubble has yet to burst, if you still have a chip and a chair, the Waiver Wire list may not be over-saturated or run deep, but there are still plenty of options offering help. With three more weeks impacted by team byes, here’s the short list of some Waiver wire help for Week 11.

Brandin Cooks (Cowboys) Owned in 49.1% of ESPN fantasy leagues, Cooks has scored 14 or more fantasy points (ppr) in 3 of his last 4 games.

Jordan Love (Packers) Owned in 44.7% of ESPN fantasy leagues, Love has not been spectacular and his fantasy scoring has tapered off a bit in recent weeks, but he has had a safe floor over his past four starts.

Odell Beckham Jr (Ravens) Owned in 42.6% of ESPN fantasy leagues, OBJ is a flier option as a flex-fill during the remaining bye. He has scored a touchdown in back-to-back contests and flashed some explosiveness in Week 10. With just 13 targets in his last three games his lack of volume makes him a risky play. 

Romeo Doubs (Packers) Owned in 39.7% of ESPN fantasy leagues, Doubs has scored in double digits fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games. Over this stretch Doubs has been targeted 22 times, catching 12 passes and scoring three touchdowns.

Joshua Dobbs (Vikings) 38.9% needs to be owned in all 2QB leagues, picked up in rest and could be a must-start the rest of the way.

Tyjae Spears (Titans) Owned in 32.6% of ESPN fantasy leagues, is doing enough work to be worth a roster spot. He is living around the flex bubble in larger (12 or more teams) fantasy leagues.

Demario Douglas (Patriots) Owned in 27.2% of ESPN fantasy leagues, Douglas has scored in double-digit fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games. It’s tough to trust the Patriots offense, but Douglas has been about the only consistent fantasy play over the past month, averaging more than 4 catches with 218 yards receiving over his last four games.

Noah Brown (Texans) Owned in 27.0% of ESPN fantasy leagues, Brown should be owned in all leagues. His quarterback (CJ Stroud) has shown he’s capable of carrying multiple receivers and Brown has been one of the hottest of late with 13 receptions for 325 yards receiving with a touchdown in the past two weeks.

Jayden Reed (Packers) Owned in 15.1% of ESPN fantasy leagues, Reed has scored in double-digit fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games. His target volume is a little on the lighter side, but 14.9 yards per reception bodes well for fantasy managers.

NFL Sunday Week 9

Sunday’s Heroes

Week 9 was led by an NFL rookie movement on Sunday. There was a record setting memorable performance by a rookie quarterback (CJ Stroud), a breakout performance from a rookie running back (Keaton Mitchell), and a huge game from a rookie wide receiver (Tank Dell). While these performances were special and deserve recognition, there were a few other outstanding players that earned the Sunday spotlight.

Joshua Dobbs (Vikings) Playing in relief of the injured starter quarterback Jaren Hall, Dobbs entered the game in the first half and led the Vikings to a come-from-behind Week 9 win. Dobbs completed 20 of 30 passes for 158 yards passing and two touchdowns. Dobbs is expected to start Week 10 and is in the streaming conversation.

Rhamondre Stevenson (Patriots) The Patriots' ball carrier turned in a solid Week 9 performance. Stevenson (fantasy RB27) carried the ball 9 times for 87 yards with a rushing touchdown and added 6 receptions for 42 yards receiving. With a Colts matchup in Week 10 Stevenson will be ranked as a back-end RB-2.

Noah Brown (Texans) The Texans wide receiver showed up big in Week 9 turning in a memorable performance worth noting. Brown was targeted just six times, but caught all six and made the most of his opportunities, totaling 153 yards receiving with a long 75-yard score. Brown and the Texans have a date with the Bengals in Week 10. He is barely owned in many leagues and should be scooped up and inserted as a flex.

Jake Ferguson (Cowboys) For the second straight week Ferguson found the endzone, but this week he did quite a bit more on the field. Ferguson was targeted 10 times, caught 7 balls, for 91 yards and a touchdown. The Cowboys will host the G-men in Week 10, Ferugson is in-line to be a TE-1 once again.

Maxx Crosby (Raiders) The Raiders pass rusher was once again a terror on Sunday recording 3 sacks, 6 solo tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 3 QB hits. 

Ja’Whaun Bentley (Patriots) The Patriots linebacker was among the leaders in tackles on Sunday, recording 10 solo to go along with 3 assists, 2 tackles for loss, 2 QB hits, and 2 sacks.

Kenny Moore (Colts) The Colts defensive back was Johnny-on-the-spot not once, but twice. Along with his 7 solo tackles, Moore recorded two picks for a pair of touchdowns..

The Waiver Wire

The fantasy football season is a long and arduous trek with plenty of peaks and valleys throughout. The best owners can hope for is that the valley doesn’t run too deep and that they peak at the right time.

One of the best methods for team improvement is the weekly ritual of working the Waiver Wire. Every week fantasy owners are looking for way to improve their team and looking for that diamond in the rough to turn their season around.

Here are this week’s diamonds.

Week 5 Waiver Wire Options

QB, CJ Stroud (Texans) - It may seem a bit premature to go all-in on Texans quarterback CJ Stroud, but he is putting up one heckuva argument to do so. For the season Stroud has been the fantasy QB11 and over the past three weeks he has more passing yards (970) than any other quarterback with six touchdowns and no picks. It may be risky to insert him as your every week starter, but few quarterbacks are playing as well as Stroud; he needs to be owned.

QB, Joshua Dobbs (Cardinals) - Over the past two weeks, Dobbs has been an effective starter posting solid fantasy numbers; 454 yards passing and three touchdowns. He’s been the fantasy QB10 his last two starts and can be considered a possible streaming option during the bye weeks that start in week 5.

RB, Jaleel McLaughlin (Broncos) - The Broncos starter Javonte Williams exited the team’s week 4 game, but is not expected to miss much, if any time. That being the cash, his departure opened the door for rookie running back Jaleel McLaughlin. He showed plenty of flash in the ground and air attack, totaling over 100 yards. It’s hard to determine what his usage will be going forward, but he’s definitely stash/(cuff) worthy and flex consideration.

RB, Jaylen Warren (Steelers) - The Steelers running back Jaylen Warren has been steady playing behind starter Najee Harris, but over the past three weeks he has been the more productive back. Warren has 78 yards rushing to Harris’ 179, but he also has 13 receptions for 115 yards receiving (to Najee’s 2 for 32). In a ppr format, Warren is a borderline RB2/RB3, so he’s definitely in the flex conversation

WR, Tyler Boyd (Bengals) - With starter Tee Higgens expected to miss time, Boyd steps up into a starting role and needs to be picked up. Over the past three weeks he has averaged 8 targets per game, with Higgins out his workload will increase.

WR, Michael Wilson (Cardinals) - Over the past two weeks the Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson has been targeted 10 times and caught 9 passes for 162 yards receiving with two touchdowns. He has been the fantasy WR13. He’s a worthy add this week with flex appeal.

Watchlist

These are some names fantasy owners should have on their watchlist for possible pickups in the near future, Chubba Hubbard (Panthers), Melvin Gordon III (Ravens), Allen Lazard (Jets), Darnell Mooney (Bears), and Curtis Samuel (Commanders). Keep an eye on their production and usage in the coming week or two.
