Week 9 By the Numbers

The Running Backs

The Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has been on a tear the past several weeks. In his last three games he’s not only averaging over 100 yards on the ground per game, but he’s also averaging 8.1 yards per clip. He’ll have a chance to continue this success this week against a Packer’s D that allows over 4.5 yards per carry.

The Bills running back James Cook has scored a rushing touchdown in five of his last six games, including three straight. Tomorrow Cook faces a Dolphins run defense that has allowed the 2nd most rushing touchdowns (10) to opposing running backs, including at least one touchdown in every game this season. Cook has a high probability to hit pay dirt Sunday.

The Falcons running back Bijan Robinson (fantasy RB4 this season) has been electric the past 3 weeks totaling 358 yards of offense (261 rush, 93 rec) with 4 touchdowns. He’s set up to continue his rampant pace facing the Cowboys run defense that has allowed the 3rd most rushing touchdowns (9) and 4th most fantasy points to opposing running backs.

Week 9 By the Numbers

The Quarterbacks

Over the past three weeks Lions quarterback Jared Goff (Fantasy QB15 for the season) has elevated his play into top-10 territory and remains a solid streaming option for Week 9 with a tough road tilt against the Packers. Despite the tough matchup, the Packers secondary has proven to be vulnerable allowing multiple touchdowns passes in 5 of 8 contests this season. This week will be number six.

The Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield remains the top gunslinger over the past three weeks averaging well over 300 yards passing per game. He may have to rely heavily on his tight end this week for any success, the Chiefs D has allowed 2nd most receptions and yards to opposing tight ends.

The Broncos rookie passer Bo Nix enters week 9 as the fantasy QB10 with his top-10 play spanning the past four weeks (Fantasy QB3 during this stretch). He may be tough to trust as a starter in one quarterback leagues, but this week he’s a safe play in two-QB formats facing the Ravens D that allows the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
