EARTH-SHAKERS! PLAY-MAKERS!
GAME-BREAKERS!
Broncos sign free agent RB Tatum Bell...
....the Bronco's had just placed running back Ryan Torain on the Injured Reserve Monday, and in desperate need they will turn to a familiar face. Running back Tatum Bell's first stint in Denver was short lived, but at times showed promise. There is speculation he could play Sunday, but he'd hardly be worth starting in any fantasy formats so soon.
Holmgren expects Hasselbeck to play Sunday...
....the current word out of the Northwest, Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is expected to return to practice on Wednesday. According to Holmgren, along as he practices well and does not show any ill signs he will start Sunday. Hardly the raving endorsement owners would hope to hear, but keep your eye on Hass, if he makes it through Friday, he'll be a go but hardly worth playing just yet.
Romo expected to be under center against Redskins...
.... the Cowboys are not only expecting, but they are counting on Tony Romo returning this week to face the Redskins. Romo has been throwing since last week and will practice Wednesday. In his absence the offense has struggles, along with skill players like TO and Witten. Fantasy owners can breathe a heavy sigh of relief, unless Romo suffers some kind of setback, he should be on the field Sunday.
Tampa expected to activate Williams on Wednesday...
.....according to TheLedger.com unless Williams suffers some sort of setback, he will likely be activated by Wednesday's deadline. Williams has been on the PU list since the season started and the team must decide to activate him or place him on the IR. Even if Williams is activated, he's a high risk play, probably not worthy of picking up in redraft league, at least until owners see how he's going to be used.
Steelers expect to have FWP back this Sunday...
....according to The Canadien Press, the Steelers running back Willie Parker will return to practice Wednesday, and head coach Mike Tomlin is optimistic he will play Sunday against the Chargers. If Parker is able to practice all week with no setbacks, he's a safe low end RB2 this week against the Chargers.
Portis is doubtful for Week 11 against Cowboys...
....it may be a bit early to discount the leagues number two running back from Sunday's showdown with the Cowboys, but the prognosis currently is not looking good. Head coach Jim Zorn did not sound confident when saying "He's questionable." Fantasy owners should be ready to make alternative plans if Portis is not practicing by Friday.
Bulger to remain starter in St.Louis...
....whether the team went another direction with Green or stayed with Bulger, neither quarterback is going to offer much value unless running back Steven Jackson is back in the line up. Both quarterbacks are prone to injury, but Bulger does have the stronger arm that fits the receiving personnel, but he will need Action Jackson back to even be considered for Week 11.
Orton hopeful to play Sunday against the Packers...
....the Bears quarterback was walking without a limp on Monday and just wearing a small brace on his right ankle. Sunday before the game with the Titans' Orton had decided he couldn't go, with a couple of days to rehabilitate he will test the ankle on Wednesday. If Orton can go, he's been a solid QB2 this season, but faces a tough matchup against the Packers secondary that has 16 picks this season. Fantasy owners should consider other options if available.
IDP NEWS...
Packers lose LB Barnett for the season...
....the Packers linebacker suffered a torn knee ligament that will require surgery to repair and end Barnett's season. The Packers defense has been solid versus the pass this season, but has had it's problems against the run. The loss Barnett will not help Green Bay get this corrected anytime soon.

Saints lose McKenzie for the remainder of the year...
....the Saints defensive back will require surgery to repair a fractured right patella. McKenzie suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. With McKenzie out, the Saints who also lost Aaron Glenn with an ankle injury (severity unknown) are now thin in a secondary (ranked 27th) that is getting beat up each week by the opposition.
Raven's place a pair of defensive backs on Injured Reserve...
.......the Raven's placed cornerback Chris McAllister and strong safety Dawan Landry on the injured reserve today, ending their season according to the AP. The Raven's defense, in particular the secondary has been battling injuries all season. With a big matchup against the Giants this Sunday, they will most definitely be put to the test by Eli and company.
Patriots LB Thomas suffers broken arm...
.......Adalius Thomas was hurt during the second quarter in Sunday's game and it was acknowledged to be an arm injury. The Boston Herald is reporting Thomas suffered a broken forearm and will require surgery that is expected to end his 2008 season. The loss is a big blow to the Pat's defense that has played very well the past several weeks.
