THE SUNDAY MORNING REPORT
If you're looking for last minute information to help you make those last second critical decisions, make sure you are here and check out the Sunday Morning Report.
Week 6: The Week that was...
Last week the Falcons fabulous rookie quarterback Matt Ryan passed for over 300 yards to lead the most unlikely come from behind win. Ryan was 22 of 30 passing against a poor Bear's secondary in stunning upset.
The Saints quarterback Drew Brees continues to play like a fantasy stud every week. Last Sunday against the Raiders, Brees was nearly perfect passing for 320 yards on 26 of 30 passing and three scores. He finished with a 144.4 passer rating for the afternoon.
In Houston, there's a new sheriff in town and his name is "Andre" The Texans WR Andre Johnson was unstoppable for a second consecutive week catching 10 balls for 178 yards and scoring his second touchdown of the season.
Perhaps the most notable 'unknown" and likely to be "never hear from again" was the Dolphins running back Patrick Cobbs, who came from no where to catch three passes for 138 yards receiving.
Not to be out done by his receiver, quarterback Matt Schaub had one of his best passing days, completing 22 passes for 379 yards and a touchdown. Schaub also added a rushing touchdown that came with only seconds left on the clock to lift the team to a victory.
The Redskins running back Clinton Portis continued his assault towards a possible rushing title for 2008. Portis ran for 129 yards last week against the Rams. It was his third 100 yards or more rushing game this season.
The Cowboys dinged up gunslinger, Tony Romo had another big passing day last Sunday against the Cardinals. Romo was 24 of 38 for 321 yards in the air and tossed 3 scores for the third time this season.
The Brown's star receiver Braylen Edwards (is that a cool name or what) broke out of his slump with a big night Monday against the Giants. Edwards pulled in 5 passes for 154 yards and scored once to lead the Browns to a big win over the G-men.
More notable performances....
...RB Warrick Dunn resurrected some of his past rushing for over 100 yards against a good Carolina defense,.......the Jaguars bowling ball runner, Maurice "Mojo" Jones-Drew ran all over the Broncos last Sunday for 125 yards and two scores.....the Chargers WR Vincent Jackson stepped up big against a poor New England pass defense catching 5 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown.....and the Cowboys RB Marion "the Barbarian" Barber totaled 173 yards and scored once on a 70 yard catch and run.
This Week at a glance...
**The biggest story this week has been the on-going feud between Jessica and Tony.....gotcha. Only kidding, but it does seem like it's the Tony Romo show on TMZ at times. Romo has his broken pinkie finger suffered last Sunday, but it sounds like it could hardly be enough to keep this Cowboy out for Week 7. No official word as of yet, but it is speculated he will be active, but not start.
**With Willie Parker (knee) sidelined for Week 7 after re-aggravating his knee injury during practice earlier in the week, MeWelde Moore becomes a very appealing starting option against a poor Bengal's defense this week.
**The Cowboys have a new face in camp with the acquisition of WR Roy Williams, who could make an immediate impact in the passing game this Sunday when the team faces the Rams.
**The Colts will not have the services of running back Joseph Addai (hamstring) this week, but will instead start back up Dominique Rhodes who should be a good start against the Packers 27th ranked run defense.
**The Brown's were without their starting tight end Kellen Winslow, last Monday but could see him return on Sunday. Winslow returned to practice this week, but no official word yet if he will play.
**Rumors are circulating about the physical well-being of Bengal's quarterback Carson Palmer. There are whispers that the former Trojan could in fact shut it down this season, but at the very least he will be out this Sunday.
Notable Game-time plays today...
*The Chargers WR Chris Chambers (ankle), who missed last Sunday nights matchup with the Patriots is doubtful to go today against the Bills, but could be a game-time decision to play.
*The Bills quarterback Trent Edwards (concussion) is recovering from a head injury he suffered two weeks ago, but appears he will be ready to go today against the Chargers.
*The Titans are hopeful that they can get both WR Justin Gage (knee) and WR Justin McCareins (hamstring) back today against the Chiefs. Both are likely to be game-time decisions.
*The Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is listed as questionable and could be a game-time decision today, if he will even be active.
*The big word from New Orleans is the status of both TE Jeremy Shockey (groin) and WR Marques Colston (thumb). Both players practiced this week and are expected to play today.
*The Jets WR Laveranules Coles (thigh) was questionable on the injury report this week. His status for Sunday could be game-time.

The Otherside of the ball...
Check here each week for weekly key IDP injuries.
The Packers LB AJ Hawk has a groin injury, but was able to practice Friday and should be a safe play today, CB Charles Woodson battling a toe injury practiced and is probable.....in New York the "immovable object" DT Kris Jenkins was limited in practice on Friday and is questionable, LB Calvin Pace was also limited and is questionable....the Redskins DE Jason Taylor did not practice Friday and is questionable for today.......the Buccaneers LB Derrick Brooks was a full participant on Friday and should be good to go today....the Giant's LB Antonio Pierce did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable for today!

Two Minute Drill!
Fill the Void:
The Texans will play host to the Detroit Lions and their 30th ranked pass defense. With much of the defenses attention focused on WR André Johnson, look for WR Kevin Walter to have a nice day receiving. Walter is another Welker-type receiver and could see many targets underneath. If you need a bye week fill-in or need a flex option Walter is a very serviceable option with a great matchup today.
The Raiders finally have RB Darren McFadden back healthy and on the field. The last time this occurred the rookie broke off 164 yards on the ground in week 2. The Raiders don't have a great matchup this week against the Jets 3rd ranked run defense, but McFadden is too much talent to keep in check all day. While he's not a great play, he could serve as a good flex this week.
With the Chargers wide receiver Chris Chambers not expected to play, WR Malcom Floyd will see more air time today against the Bills. With a lot of attention expected to go towards receiver Vincent Jackson, Floyd could see some favorable matchups and at 6'5" he's a great target for Rivers going downfield!
My Weekly Fantasy Picks!
THE FOUR HORSE-MEN...
QB-Jay Cutler (Den)...the Broncos quarterback has been a gem this season, although he has cooled off some the last few weeks. Bring in the Patriots and he could heat up again. The Pat's struggled last week with the long ball, look for Cutler to take several shots downfield.
Prediction: 24 of 35 passing for 315 yards and 2 touchdowns!
RB-Chris Johnson (Ten)....the Titans travel to Kansas City today to face the NFL's worst run defense. The Chiefs are allowing 5.0 yards per carry and Titan's running back Chris Johnson should see lots of work today. Even though he'll split short yardage with LenDale White, the Chiefs are vulnerable to the big play and Johnson could get in from distance.
Prediction: 18 carries for 120 yards rushing and a touchdown!
WR-Bernard Berrian (Min)....the Vikings receiver has been turned loose with his new best buddy Gus Frerotte chucking the rock. Berrian has 11 catches for 241 yards in his last two games and against the Bear's 27th ranked pass defense, he could improve on those numbers today!
Prediction: 5 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown
TE-Owen Daniels (Hou).....the Texans tight end has averaged 5 receptions for 63 yards per game over his last four starts. This week Daniels has a great matchup against a poor Lion's secondary. With Schaub passing with the hot hand look for Daniels to see his normal production and finally get into the end-zone this week.
Prediction: 5 receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown!
The 5th Rider...
(Flex/option) RB Jamaal Charles will finally get to see some extended action this week with LJ sitting on the sideline. Charles is expected to split carries with Kolby Smith today, but expect to see him more involved in the passing game where he could do most of his damage. Charles will not likely rack up the yardage on the ground, but he could finish with some solid totals!
Prediction: 10 carries for 40 yards, 6 catches for 60 yards.
Three and Out (RBs & WRs):
Three receivers I like in week 7 and ones that I would strongly suggest that you have in your line up Sunday!
Wide Receivers...
(1st Down) WR-Muhsin Muhammad (Car)....the Panthers will play host to the Saints and their 21st ranked pass defense today. Muhammad who has been playing well, should see a favorable matchup in the Saints secondary with a lot of attention focused on Steve Smith. Expect to see Muhammad targeted often and to get a few red-zone looks!
(2nd Down) WR-Roy Williams (Dall)....the Cowboys are loaded with weapons across the field. Williams comes in as perhaps the best 2nd receiver the Cowboys have seen since Tony Hill. With defenses concerned with TO and Witten, at 6'3" Williams is a huge target over the middle that Johnson should find often today.
(3rd Down) WR-Donnie Avery (Stl)...last Sunday the rookie showed a little of his speed connecting on a 43 yard pass play. This week facing the Cowboys 17th ranked and banged up secondary, expect to see Avery targeted often and downfield. The rookie could score his first pass receiving touchdown today!
(OUT-sit him) WR-Bobby Engram (Sea)....the Seahawks offense is a mess. Last Week Engram did not record a single catch and things don't get any easier this week with Hasselbeck out again. Engram was only targeted 4 times all afternoon last Sunday and today against a tough Buccaneer defense he could find a rough time getting any more targets.
