FRIDAY'S HEADLINES
**Holmes to be deactivated for Sunday...
....the story broke earlier today, the Steelers receiver was arrested with possession of marijuana and according to head coach Mike Tomlin the team has decided they don't need any distractions this weekend. Holmes will be deactivated, elevating the value of receivers Hines Ward and Nate Washington. While Ward is considered a decent WR2, Washington can now be looked as a mid WR3 and decent flex option with Holmes OUT.
**Action Jackson still a question for Week 8...
....reports on Friday indicated the Rams running back took a few snaps in practice. Jackson is listed as questionable and appears to be 50-50 to play Sunday. Unfortunately for fantasy owners he will be a game-time decision. While we think he will play, fantasy owners should prepare for the other, but we don't suggest Antonio Pittman as a reliable solution. Pittman has not played in several weeks and he's not the same explosive back Jackson is and could struggle against a decent Patriot run defense.
**McAllister to play Sunday...
....despite the earlier reports today of violating the NFL's steroids policy, the Saints running back Deuce McAllister will play Sunday against the Chargers. The impact of this breaking news will not have any affect on this weeks' game in London, but going forward with possible suspensions, fantasy owners may now want to focus their attention on RB Pierre Thomas.
**Boldin expected to play in Week 8...
....the word coming out of the Cardinal's camp, Boldin is expected to see 30-35 snaps on Sunday. The Cardinal's receiver did participate this week in a limited fashion, but appears ready to return to the field. With Boldin's return not quite full, fantasy owners should be safe staying with WR Steve Breaston at least one more week.
**Jordan doubtful for Sunday...
....not only will the Patriots be without Laurence Maroney on Sunday, but running back Lamont Jordan came up lame following Wednesday's practice reaggravating his calf injury. He is listed as doubtful, so the running duties will be turned over to Kevin Faulk and BenJarvous Green-Ellis. It's difficult to read how the time will be split and with the hot Rams on the slate, it may be safer for owners to stay away from this game.
**Mason turns up sick on Friday report...
....late reports surfaced that Raven's receiver Derrick Masson was limited in practice on Friday due to illness. It is not known how sick Mason is, but it would be a surprise to not see him on the field Sunday. If he can go, Mason doesn't have a great matchup this Sunday, but if you are desperate he may offer value as a flex in some leagues or a low WR3.
