The Weekly Waiver Wire

(Week 8)

Last weeks waiver grabs weren't the best options to follow as Darkwa and Decker both fizzled big on Sunday. On the other hand, a pair of Jets McCown and Seferian-Jenkins paid some nice dividends in Week 7. McCown threw 3 touchdowns, while Seferian-Jenkins scored in his third straight contest. Our drop suggestion last week wasn't too far off either; Jonathan Stewart rushed for 48 yards on 14 carries for a 3.4 yards per carry average.

This week is another week and another chance to make up for past blunders or the opportunity for a few more..

Last week I had Josh McCown on the radar and in case anyone failed to snag him last week, he still remains a viable bye week filler and streaming QB option. Against the Dolphins on Sunday McCown passed for 209 yards with three scores, finishing the week as the No.6 fantasy QB.

The Vikings finally got a chance to see what they have in running back Latavius Murray. Given the opportunity to lead the backfield Murray toted the rock 18 times for 113 yards and a score. He'll face some tough treading this week against the Browns, but Murray is worth rostering and could be valuable rotating RB play in the future.

The Jaguars wide receiver Marquise Lee has quietly put himself into the fantasy conversation. Last Sunday he had an unassuming 4 catch for 72 yards day, but in his last two games he's been targeted 16 times for 9 receptions and 155 yards. In the PPR format, Lee can be a useful play as a bye week filler, having now strung two consecutive games with double-digit fantasy points. He's yet to score this season, so probability would suggest that could be coming soon.

My tight end pickup for this week is Vernon Davis. I play in a couple of deep leagues, so I made this move a week ago, but I'm sure in many leagues Davis is still available. Over the past three weeks Davis only been targeted 11 times catching 9 balls, but with his strength, speed, and athleticism he has totaled 221 receiving yards. The way he's being utilized in the pass game, he has fantasy value in the PPR arena. He's worth streaming for those lacking better options.

Sleeper Watch

My sleeper pick this week is wide receiver Demarcus Robinson. This may not be the best week to play Chiefs receiver, but it could be the best week to stash him for going forward. All I keep hearing from the popular online sources and broadcasters is “how much the Chiefs like this kid” and with Conley on IR, he now gets an opportunity. The subtle hints I like are, last week Robinson tied with the team lead in targets (8) and in week 6 he was 2nd with (5) behind Kelce and Hill. Keep your eyes on this kid.

That's My Take.
