Week 11: By The Numbers

The Running Backs

The Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has been on a heater the past 4 weeks, averaging nearly 20 fantasy points per game. During the stretch he has totaled 379 yards rushing, 3 rushing touchdowns, 10 catches, and 98 yards receiving, good enough for the fantasy RB5 (tied) spot. His matchup on Sunday looks like a great opportunity to improve these numbers facing a Jaguars defense ranked 30th versus opposing running backs. The Jaguars have been particularly vulnerable versus the pass, allowing the 5th most receptions (58), 4th most receiving yards (463), and 4 touchdowns (2nd most) to running backs. Gibbs is locked in as a must start and strong DFS play.

Quietly, since week 6, the Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been the fantasy RB8 (points per game). Over his last four games, Jacobs has averaged 90 rushing per game with a 5.3 yards per carry average (ranked 6th - minimum 30 carries during this time) and 3 touchdowns. Sunday’s matchup against the Bears sets up an opportunity for continued success. The Bears defense (ranked 15th versus opposing running backs) has allowed the 11th most yards on the ground (1,004) and allows 4.9 yards per carry (ranked 27th in the league). Jacobs should be in line for a productive day on the ground.

That's my take
