WEEK 6 SUNDAY'S HEROES

Week 6...
SUNDAY'S HEROES

Week 6 was filled with more wild finishes and lots of offense. In Houston we saw a lot of the wildcat formation, but the Dolphins secondary saw even more the Texans big receiver Andre Johnson. In Atlanta the Bears watched victory slip away in the final seconds, while the Cowboys was there chances at a win get stuffed by the Cardinal's special teams.

Just as we see every week in the NFL, there was more ups and downs, big plays and big hits, and game changing scores and the heroes we watched get it done on the gridiron!

Here are your week 6 "Sunday's Heroes!"


AFC / NFC


300-PASSING CLUB

QB-Matt Schaub (Hou).....the Texans, in a wild one on Sunday overcame a 4th quarter deficit to pull out their first win of the season. Quarterback Matt Schaub led the Texans charge completing 22 of 42 passes for 379 yards with one touchdown

QB-Tony Romo (Dal)....the Cowboys passer continued his gunslinging ways on Sunday passing for over 300 yards for the 4th time this season. Romo completed 24 of 39 passes for 321 yards. Romo also added 3 more touchdowns. This was the third straight game with three scores.

QB-Drew Brees (NO).....the Saints quarterback continues to sizzle and light up opposing secondaries every week. Against the Raiders Brees completed 26 of 30 passes (86.6% completion) for 320 yards (over 10 yds/attempt) and tossed three scores!

QB-Phillip Rivers (SD).....the Chargers quaretback looked impressive Sunday night, cutting up the Patriots defense for 306 yards. Rivers completed 18 of 27 passes and threw three touchdowns to the his team to victory!

QB-Matt Ryan (Atl).....the Falcons rookie quarterback had a break out game against a pretty good Bears defense. Ryan connected on 22 of 30 passes for 301 yards and a touchdown to lead his team to a big home win!



100-RUSHING CLUB

RB-Clinton Portis (Was)....the Redskins running back continues to run well every Sunday. Portis turned in another solid performance against the Rams on Sunday. Portis carried the ball 21 times for 129 yards and scored two touchdowns.

RB-Maurice Jones-Drew (Jax)....Mojo got loose on Sunday and shredded the Broncos defense in week 6. Jones-Drew finished the day with 22 carries for 125 yards on the ground. Mojo also added 2 rushing touchdowns and 2 receptions for another 23 yards.

RB-Warrick Dunn (TB)....the Buccaneers small running back, didn't play small on Sunday. Dunn had a big day and finished with 22 carries for 115 rushing yards. Dunn also chipped in with 3 catches for 18 yards.

RB-Adrian Peterson (Min).....the Vikings explosive runner ran for over 100 yards for the first time in his last four games. All day carried the ball 25 times for 111 yards, but did not score.

RB-Michael Pittman (Den).....the Broncos running back, in a rare start made the most of his opportunity. Pittman, normally relegated to short yardage duty saw extended action on Sunday and carried the ball 20 times for 109 yards. It was the first 100 yard rushing game for any Bronco running back this season.

RB-Frank Gore (SF).....the Niners running back was big on Sunday, but not big enough to keep his team in the win column. Gore carried the ball 19 times for 101 yards with a touchdown. He also added 3 receptions for another 16 yards.


100-RECEIVING CLUB

WR-Andre Johnson (Hou)...the Texans big time receiver was big time Sunday in the team's come from behind win over the Dolphins. Johnson was unstoppable pulling in 10 passes for 178 yards and his second touchdown for the season!

WR-Vincent Jackson (SD)....the Chargers receiver stepped up with Chris Chambers out. Jackson was the big playmaker Sunday night catching 5 passes for 134 yards and a score.

RB-Patrick Cobbs (Mia)....the Dolphins pass catching running back led all Dolphins with 3 catches for 138 yards receiving and a spectacular 80 yard touchdown reception.

WR-Bernard Berrian (NE)....the Vikings receiver was big on Sunday aiding the home team to victory. Berrian caught 5 passes for 131 yards, including a scintilating 86 yard catch and run for a touchdown!

RB-Marion Barber (Dal)....the Cowboys star running back came up huge on Sunday in the teams comeback that fell just short in overtime. Barber carried the ball 17 times for only 45 yards, but all of his damage in the passing game. He finished the afternoon with 11 receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown!

WR-Reggie Wayne (Ind)....the Colt's top pass catching receiver continued his steady ways on Sunday. Wayne grabbed 8 passes for 118 yards and scored his 4th touchdown of the season.

WR-Steve Smith (Car)...the Panthers deep threat continues to get better each week. On Sunday against the Buccaneers Smith caught 6 more passes for 112 yards receiving.

WR-Roddy White (Atl)....the Falcons top wide out continued to prove why he's one of the league's best receivers. Against the Bears in week 6, White caught 9 passes for 112 yards and a score!

WR-Steve Breaston (Ari)....the Cardinals replacement for starter Anquan Boldin continues to fill in just nicely. Breaston lead all Cardinal receivers with 8 catches for 102 yards and a score in the team's big win on Sunday!
