Birds Can Fly!!

Big returns in Week 5….
The Falcons and Cardinals returned from their bye weeks and two quarterbacks returned from injury. Both Matt Hasselbeck and Donovan McNabb made their returns from injury on Sunday and looked very sharp in doing so.

Starting with the Falcons and quarterback Matt Ryan, coming off their bye Ryan got his offense started in a hurry. After missing on his first three throws, he completed his next six including a 31 yard strike to wide receiver Roddy White to put his team up 14-0 early.

Cardinal’s quarterback Kurt Warner started fast on Sunday, completing 12 of his first 13 passes. He also got his team out of the gate quick and up by 21 points by halftime. In the first half Warner would pass for 262 yards with two touchdowns leading his team to an early 21-0 cushion.

Quarterback Donovan McNabb had similar results in his return from a rib injury on Sunday. On the team’s opening drive Donovan needed only two plays to put the Eagles up early, with a 51 yard toss to his rookie receiver Jeremy Maclin. The Eagles would start fast led by McNabb and never look back.

In Seattle, quarter Matt Hasselbeck was returning from a rib injury as well that had him sidelined since week two. After setting up a couple of early field goals, Hasselbeck heated up just before half with consecutive scoring drives to open up the Sunday matchup with Jacksonville, 20-0. On a short field with the team’s opening drive in the second half, Hass shut the down on the Jags with a 13 yards strike to T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

It was a successful return for all four quarterbacks and one that has all three (teams; Seahawks, Falcons, Cardinals, and Eagles) birds flying high for the moment!

Check back everyday for more football!
