FSH: IDP NOTES

October 13th, 2009 11:00pm PST

IDP Notes:

The strong never sleep, so for those that can keep up with the “what is happening” around the league, here’s more football just for all of the IDP Nation….

IDP News From Across the Wire…

Michael Lewis, S, San Francisco 49ers
Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat tweeted that he does not think Michael Lewis will miss too much time with his concussion.
My Fantasy Read on Lewis: This is likely an iffy situation at best. Lewis is going to miss some time, but it’s going to be tough to predict when he’ll actually return. Owners are better off clearing space and hitting the wires…..

Aaron Smith, DE, Pittsburgh Steelers
Updating an earlier report, Aaron Smith is mulling over whether or not to undergo surgery to repair a partial tear in his right rotator cuff, according to ESPN.
My Fantasy Read on Smith: The prognosis doesn’t look good although nothing official has been released. Smith is expected to be sidelined for sometime. He’s worth hanging onto if you have the roster space…..

Jamie Winborn, LB, Atlanta Falcons
Jamie Winborn auditioned for the Bills today, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. The team also tried out Matt Wilhelm, Leon Williams, Alex Lewis and Patrick Thomas.
My Fantasy Read on Winborn: With Draft being signed by the Bills, it doesn’t look like Winborn will be employed anytime soon….

Monty Beisel, LB, Kansas City Chiefs
Monty Beisel auditioned for the Texans today, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. The team also tried out Rocky Boiman, Darnell Bing, and Brandon Renkart.
My Fantasy Read on Beisel: There’s not much value here with Beisel even if he signs somewhere. Beisel is a career backup and has never been much of an IDP option…..

Chris Draft, LB, Buffalo Bills
Chris Draft has signed a deal with the Bills, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. Terms were not disclosed.
My Fantasy Read on Draft: The Bill’s newest signing could see action right away. With the Jets up next he might be a decent bye week fill, but he’s not a permanent option on a bad defense….

Paul Posluszny, LB, Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo News is reporting that Bills' middle linebacker Paul Posluszny hopes to be able to return to the field for next week's game against the Jets. Posluszny has missed four games after breaking his arm in the season opener.
My Fantasy Read on Posluszny: This would be huge for the Bills. If Posluszny can play he’s worth starting even against a Jets team that could come out throwing….

Junior Seau, LB, New England Patriots
Junior Seau has officially re-signed with the Patriots, according to Versus.com. Seau worked out for the Pats earlier this month, and the team finally decided to make the move.
My Fantasy Read on Seau: The Patriots must be searching for added depth, but Seau? He may be familiar with the defense, but at 40 he’s limited to what he’ll bring to the table. He’s not going to offer much value in fantasy……
