January 5th, 2008 11:47pm PST

Wildcard Weekend...
NFL Injury News

  • The Cardinal's wide receiver Anquan Boldin suffered a strained hamstring during Saturday's playoff matchup with the Falcons. His status for the Divisional round in unknown.
  • The Charger's running back LaDanian Tomlinson was limited in Saturday night's contest with a groin strain. There have been many rumors circulating as to the severity of the injury and it appears that LT's availability for next Sunday is highly in question now.
  • The Charger's kicker Nate Kaeding suffered a strained groin in Saturday night's affair. Kaeding injured the groin early in the game, but managed his way through the night to kick the game tying kick late in the 4th quarter. There are no updates at this time and he'll be expected to be available in the Divisional round.
  • The Raven's playmaking safety Ed Reed made it through Sunday's matchup without suffering any setbacks while escaping serious injury on one of his interception returns.
  • The Eagle's Brian Westbrook did not suffer any setbacks on Sunday, but according to head coach Andy Reid he is still battling "a sore knee." Westbrook is expected to be limited all week in practice, which has become his normal routine, but he should be ready to go on Sunday.

Sunday's Game Notes:
  • The Chargers were able to keep their lucky streak alive on Saturday night facing one of the league's hottest teams. The Colts had won nine straight when they entered Qualcomm Stadium, but with a little So Cal luck and the legs of the San Diego's little big man Darren Sproles, the Chargers ended Indy's run. The Colts defense dominated the contest for the most part recording four sacks, two turnovers, and limiting Philip Rivers to just 217-yards passing. All night the Chargers were backed against the wall, but somehow found the resolve with a timely sack by linebacker Tim Dobbins and a Nate Kaeding field goal to force a tie late in the game and send the contest into overtime. With their escape Saturday night, the Chargers engineered their fifth straight win and will now head to Pittsburgh looking for number six.
  • The Cardinal's Kurt Warner looked everything but 37-years of age leading Arizona to its' first playoff win in 61 years. Warner was on target and his wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin made the big plays. Not only did the Cards offense show up to play, but behind a supreme defensive effort they limited the Falcons daunted rushing attack to 60-yards and 2.5-yards per carry. The Falcons rookie quarterback Matt Ryan struggled for most of the night in the face of tremendous pressure. Ryan was also sacked three times and forced into three turnovers in the team's loss.
  • The Ravens defense came to play Sunday in the team's first round playoff matchup. The defense stuffed the Dolphins ground game allowing a feeble 52-yards and forcing five turnovers. Linebacker Ray Lewis led the charge with nine tackles, while safety Ed reed once again came up with the big plays; two interceptions, including a 64-yard return for a touchdown. The Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington, played his worst game of the season, throwing four interceptions and losing a fumble in the loss. The Ravens not only played great defense, but they got their ground game going as well finishing the day with 151-yards.
  • The Eagles used a mix of defense, Westbrook, and McNabb to defeat the Vikings on Sunday. McNabb was scintillating passing for 300-yards, while Westbrook was a playmaker scoring on a 71-yard touchdown reception. While the defense showed a few holes allowing the Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to score on the a 40-yard run, they were stingy for the most part limiting AD to 83-yards for the day. Asante Samuel came up with the big play on defense for the Eagles with a 44-yard interception return for a touchdown. The touchdown put Philly ahead and there they would stay.
