EARTH-SHAKERS! PLAY-MAKERS!
GAME-BREAKERS!

Jackson in danger of not playing...
....the Rams just signed two running backs and there's talk that Kenneth Darby could start. This is definitely not a good sign for Jackson owners and an indication they should make other plans for Week 10. As head coach Jim Haslett stated, only if Jackson is a full participant by Friday in practice will he have a chance to play.

Culpepper could start in Week 10...
....with starter Dan Orlovsky injuring his thumb this past Sunday and now questionable for Week 10, the Lions may be forced to look to Drew Stanton or possibly the just signed quarterback Daunte Culpepper. The word coming out of Detroit is Culpepper could be the favorite, but since he will have less than a week to prepare, he's hardly a viable fantasy option pick up this week.

Williams tears MCL out 4 weeks...
.... the Bronco's defense suffered a tremendous loss with the injury to LB DJ Williams. He's the team's leading tackler and one of it's best play makers. As if this unit hasn't already been hit hard enough with injuries, this loss is disastrous. With so many holes, the defense is ranked near the bottom of every statistical category and this latest injury will more than likely keep them there.

Orton expected to return in Week 13...
.....the Bears will move on with Rex Grossman as the starter while Orton is out. Week 10 will be a tremendous challenge for Grossman, but owners may want to keep their eye on Sexy-Rexy, in Weeks 11 & 12, Grossman has some favorable matchups and with Brandon Lloyd expected back soon, he could be an interesting fantasy option.

Quinn set to start for Browns...
....this will be Quinn's first NFL start and he'll have the good fortune of facing one of the leagues worst defenses that has just lost one of its' best players. While it is not recommended to start Quinn this week, if you are holding Romo and made the disastrous move with Brad Johnson, you could probably do worse than Quinn. Only in Dynasty or keeper leagues might Quinn have any value.

Hasselbeck making progress...
....while it's good news to hear that Hasselbeck is making progress, more to the story would indicate there is no specific timetable of his return. Fantasy owners can rule out Week 10 and it looks like it continues to remain a waiting game for when Hasselbeck might get back out on the field.

James demoted to Number 3....
....with head coach Ken Whisenhunt full supporting his decision to make the change at running back, it now appears that Edgerrin James has not only been replaced as the starter, but he's fallen down the depth chart. By his own admission, James does not fit the style of offense in Arizona and he is now listed as the number 3 running back behind Hightower and Arrington.

Charles expected to start in Week 10...
....with both Kolby Smith (injury) and Larry Johnson (suspension) unavailable, the rookie Jamaal Charles will get the nod this week against San Diego. Following his 18 carry 106 yard performance against the Bucs this past Sunday, the rookie is strong play for Week 10.

Big Ben is day-to-day...
....the Steelers quarterback exited Monday night's game in the first half with a shoulder injury not to return. Big Ben noted he was fine, but the team was awaiting the results of an MRI taken on Tuesday. At 6-2 atop the division and with Leftwich doing a fine job as the back-up it would not surprise to see the Steelers sit Roethlisberger this Sunday and let him heal.

Rogers is considered questionable for Thursday...
.......with a short week this is not good news for the Browns. Rogers has been an immovable force in the middle playing at tremendous level of late. His absence will greatly hurt the Browns run defense and increase the value of the Broncos running game, whether it's Torain or Young in the starting backfield.
