FSH: ON THE COVER

This Week on the Cover….

Singletary’s Niner’s are Gore-rific!!

Frank Gore leads the Niners in Week two….
When the 2009 season opened many folks were picking either the Seahawks or the Cardinals to win the NFC West. We all know how bad the Rams are right now and they would not compete, but what about the San Francisco 49ers?

On Sunday Mike Singletary once again rallied his troops and forced many expects to rethink their earlier conversations about “who will win the west?” After two weeks the Niners are 2-0 and sitting atop the division.

One of the big reasons for the team’s early success this season has been the play of the defense. This past Sunday facing the Seahawks (favored to win the west), there’s no question the biggest difference was the outstanding play of running back Frank Gore.

The former Miami Hurricane exploded for over 200-yards on the ground which was highlighted by two big runs for scores. In the first quarter Gore got loose for a 79-yard scamper for six and then followed that with another 80-yard dash for a score to open the third quarter.

The Niners and Gore blitzed the Seahawks defense for 256-net yards at an 8.8-yards per carry clip. With their fast start the Niners are sitting pretty and with the running game and the defense playing well, folks better start talking about Singletary’s boys. They are for real!

Check back everyday for more football!
